Dear Bowler,

We have survived the cold & snow, and now it's tournament time!  City Championship Tournaments are starting soon for both the adult and youth.  The tournament schedule is available on our website www.grgrusbc.org and entry forms will be available soon.

The bowling association is again putting extra money into the tournament this year in hopes to help build our numbers.

Please join in, ask a friend or new league member to join your team or let us know if you are interested in bowling and we will help put a team together.

Great Bowling!!!
Congratulations to Frank Rybiski who rolled back to back 300 games enroute to an 824 series at Westgate Bowl in the Monday Morning Specials league on Feb. 10th. Frank is having an outstanding season. He has already added the 700/800 Tournament title to his accomplishments this season. Watch out city tournament!!!

Myth Buster
Myth: You can't bowl while a pin is in the gutter.
Correct Answer:  False. You are allowed to bowl, however a bowling ball must not come in contact with anything before hitting the pins on the pin deck. If the ball hits a pin in the gutter, otherwise know as dead wood, the delivery counts, but resulting pinfall does not count (Rule 6b-Illegal Pinfall). A downed pin on the lane is also dead wood. USBC recommends dead wood is removed prior to making a delivery so you do not lose your opportunity to score. Illegal pinfall can also occur when pins ricochet after hitting deadwood and knock down pins.
