Greater Grand Rapids USBC Association December 2013

Dear Bowler,

As we wind down the year let's hope we have all enjoyed the season thus far and are having great scores!!!  With the new year is right around the corner we can make some new resolutions or goals to work on.

Starting out the new year we have the City Mixed Doubles during mid January and then the City Open & Womens' Championship Tournament following that, also the State and National Events that will be starting too.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from your friends at the Grand Rapids Bowling Association.

Sincerely,
Greater Grand Rapids USBC Association

High Five!

High Five is the USBC Youth page online here: http://bowl.com/youth/. It recognizes the on-lane accomplishments of USBC Youth bowlers in its High Five section.  A form is available on the site so parents and/or association officials can submit the achievements of their youth bowlers.  Should an association submit an achievement, photos are acceptable as long as the parents approve.

Last month I wrote an article about the Grand Rapids Veterans Home. I was unaware of who the gentleman was that was behind all these good things happening. Dave Kuzyk from the Muskegon Bowling Association. Thank you for your persistence, promotion & continued hard work with the Brunswick Corp. in making this happen.  We appreciate all you've done.

300 Games Strike Again !

Never give up !! These guys still have what it takes!.

Jack Burch had the 2nd 300 game of his life.  The last one was 48 years ago.  Jack is 72.  If it takes that long again he will be 120!!!

Kerry Parcels recently had a 300 game also.  This was not his first one but it has been 27 years since his last one !!

Congratulations to both gentleman.  Hopefully you won't have to wait so long next time !

Congratulations to Jacob VanDrunen for a 292 game at Rockford Lanes.  That score is highly regarded as the rarest game in bowling!!

Merry Christmas
 &
Happy New Year
